TV ANIME "Chainsmoker Cat" Air Date:July 2026! TRAILER REVEAL
The popular manga "Yani Neko" (Japanese title: ヤニネコ), created by the manga artist Nyan Nyan Factory, has announced an anime adaptation. The story follows the daily life of a catgirl who just can't seem to pull herself together.

Voice Actors and Production Team
Voice actress Yuuko Natsuyoshi (known for voicing Julia in *Gal & Dino* and Sasha Necron in *The Misfit of Demon King Academy*) will be lending her voice to the protagonist, Yani Neko. More cast members will be announced at a later date.

This work is directed by Taku Kimura (Star Wars: Visions - "Tatooine Rhapsody") from Studio Lemon, with animation production by Bibury Animation Studios. Takashi Aoshima (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You) is in charge of series composition, Riki Matsuura (Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc - Devil Design) is handling character design, and Keiichi Suzuki (Saint Young Men) is composing the music.

Yani (ヤニ)
The catgirl protagonist of this title, who has a severe smoking addiction. Every time she tries to quit, she instantly gives up, unable to resist the temptation. She's behind on rent, can't hold down a job for long, and has even used her own urine to put out cigarette butts. Despite her life being a mess, she still strives (?) to live on with the help of her friends and younger sister.
Story Synopsis
Yan-chan is a catgirl living in the city, possessing soft cat ears and a languid personality. However, her most defining characteristic is the cigarette that never leaves her hand. As a heavy smoker, her daily life revolves entirely around the act of "smoking."
Although Yan-chan has resolved to quit smoking countless times, she surrenders completely within minutes on every occasion. Her apartment is filled with swirling smoke and mountains of trash, while her refrigerator contains nothing but expired food and a few cans of cheap beer. Her landlord comes knocking every few days to demand rent, yet she can't even hold down a job—after all, no boss can tolerate an employee who needs a smoke break every five minutes.
Fortunately, Yan-chan is not alone. Her diligent and responsible younger sister often comes over to clean her apartment, which resembles a garbage dump, while her friends occasionally drop by with food and living expenses, trying to save this self-destructive catgirl. However, when they discovered that Yan-chan actually used her own urine to extinguish a small fire started by a cigarette butt, everyone realized: this catgirl's life has deteriorated to a truly appalling level.
"Nekonyan" depicts the decadent daily life of a useless catgirl with a touch of dark humor.
Will she be able to quit smoking and pull herself together? Or is she destined to be a sloppy chain-smoker for the rest of her life?
