"Uma Musume Pretty Derby" is a multimedia project launched by Cygames, Inc. The series draws inspiration from horse racing, depicting distinctive "Uma Musume" (Horse Girls) competing against each other on the racetrack, and has subsequently expanded into derivative projects including anime and games.

The Almond Eye introduced this time is a character implemented in the Japanese version of the game "Uma Musume Pretty Derby" for its 5th anniversary. Its prototype is a Japanese thoroughbred racehorse that has won nine races and is known as the "Nine-Crown Horse."

This perfection stems from her ultimate "competitive spirit" that could be described as nine "super" characters stacked together. However, it is precisely this overly strong competitive spirit that sometimes makes her appear too perfectionist, even willing to take risky actions beyond her physical limits, which becomes her only small flaw.

Almond Eye (Japanese: アーモンドアイ, English: Almond Eye), a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse, was the fifth Triple Crown filly in Japanese racing history. Throughout her career, she dominated mile to middle-distance races, winning nine G1 races including the Autumn Tenno Sho, Japan Cup, and Dubai Turf. Her career earnings of 1,919,253,900 yen set a Japanese record at that time, earning her recognition as one of Japan's strongest racehorses from the late 2010s to early 2020s. In 2023, she was inducted into the Japan Racing Association Hall of Fame.
