How to Use Dreava Customizable Model – A Complete Guide for VTubers
Dreava Customizable Model lets you create your ideal Live2D avatar. This step-by-step tutorial covers importing into VTS (VTuber Studio), using the weaveparam plugin, adjusting parameters, and optimizing facial capture for realistic results.
I. Preparation Before Use
1. Purchase and download the Dreava Customizable Model to your local PC.
2. Download Steam, then buy the full version of VTuber Studio (VTS) from the Steam store (the free version has a watermark and missing features).
3. A webcam for facial capture (purchased separately).
II. How to Use the Dreava Customizable Model
1. Unzip the Dreava model files
After unzipping, you will see: the main model folder, two TXT files, a VTS key map, and the weaveparam 1.0.0 plugin.
📖 Please read the TXT user guide carefully – it contains important notes about the Dreava model.
2. Import the Dreava model into VTuber Studio (VTS)
Open VTS, click the first button (Import Model), then click "Open Folder". This opens the "Live2dModel" folder.
Drag and drop the "Dreava model folder" into VTS's "Live2dModel" folder, then reload models.
Load the model in VTS – click the Dreava model icon and you'll see it ready.
3. Open the weaveparam 1.0.0 plugin
The plugin requires no installation – just double‑click to open it.
In the pop‑up dialog, click 【Select Model Folder】. Alternatively, go to Settings → Model Folder and click【Change】. A folder selection window appears.
⚠️ This step is very important! Follow the 3 steps below:
①Open the "Live2dModel" folder inside your VTS directory.
②Copy the full folder path (Ctrl+C), switch to the "Select Model Folder" path field, paste it (Ctrl+V), then click "➟"/press "enter".
③In "Select Model Folder", select the Dreava model and click the "Select Folder" button – loading is complete.
This ensures that any customized avatars you save will be visible and loadable directly in VTS.
Once the model is loaded, you can start customizing. Below is the plugin interface guide.
4. Understanding the Dreava model files
Pay special attention to the expressions folder and the motion folder.
- Expressions folder: Whether you use the plugin or VTS's built‑in face editing, saving will store the file as an .exp3 file inside this folder.
- Motion folder: Contains 6 preset animations (3 meme animations, 1 idle, 1 trigger, 1 sleep/loss).
5. weaveparam plugin interface guide – full parameter control
Open the plugin. The image below explains each UI element. The advantage of using the weaveparam plugin is that you can randomize and then fine‑tune, saving time adjusting dozens of parameters manually inside VTS.
①The blue box shows parameter categories. Click ">" to expand and see individual parameters (e.g., hair, eyes, skirt).
② Next to each parameter: a lock 🔒, a random button, and a reset button. Locked parameters cannot be adjusted – click to unlock. Random randomizes only the current category. Reset restores the default value.
③ Click "Filter" to search for a specific parameter name (e.g., "hair", "skirt"), or scroll to browse all.
④ Global random & global reset: The top "Random" button randomizes all parameters at once (can be unstable). Use it to get a decent starting point, then use category‑specific random buttons or sliders to fine‑tune. Click "Reset" to restore everything to default.
⑤ Undo & Redo: Undo goes back one step; Redo moves forward.
⑥ Name Expression: After customizing, you must name the expression, then click Save.
⑦ Save & Save As: After saving, you can scroll down in the "Select Expression" dropdown to find your saved creation and continue editing. All expression files are stored in the expression folder inside the Dreava model folder.
⑧ Select Animation: Used to view preset animations – not commonly used.
⑨ Manage Groups: Reorder parameters, edit names, or delete groups.
All adjustable parameters are shown on the product page.
6. Parameter Adjustment Guide
Deformation Tips: Some parameters have X/Y/Z axes. If textures don't align properly, adjust these to fit.
- X-axis: Adjusts horizontal position or left/right stretch
- Y-axis: Adjusts vertical position or up/down stretch
- Z-axis: Adjusts angle
Color Adjustment Tips: Some parameters use RGB or LSHB color models.
- RGB: R = Red, G = Green, B = Blue
- LSHB: H = Hue, S = Saturation, L = Lightness, B = Black
To match a specific color, use software like Photoshop to sample the color and get its RGB/HSL values, then adjust accordingly.

7. After customizing – facial capture and fine‑tuning in VTS
① First, connect your webcam to your PC. Then open VTS and load the Dreava model. Go to Settings → the 2nd icon → click "Webcam Tracking" → "Choose Camera".
Recommended settings:
Resolution: 1920×1080 (30 FPS)
Format: MJPEG
Tracking Quality: Level 5
Tracking Type: Only face tracking
Face the camera and click "Calibrate" ↓
② After webcam tracking is set up, go to Settings → click the 4th icon → Edit Expressions.
Take our customized model (named "neo001") as an example. In the pop‑up dialog, click the second button, find the expression you named, click the toggle to load it.
Then click the small keypad button on the right, set a hotkey (e.g., press "E"). Click "Done". Pressing that hotkey will summon your Dreava model instantly!
③If you're not satisfied with some details, go back to the weaveparam plugin, tweak, and save. Or adjust directly in VTS: click "Edit Expressions" → scroll down to find your expression, select it, and various parameters appear on the right. Remember to turn on "Show all parameters" (top‑right corner) to see every adjustable value.
After making adjustments, don't forget to click Save!
